meeting Santa

Arlo and Lyra got to meet Santa for the first time today.  I predicted there would be some tears, as not very many (nearly) one year olds will happily sit on a strange man's lap, especially one who is wearing a big red suit and has a face covered in puffy, white hair!  Overall I think they did pretty well for their first visit.  I know that Arlo asked Santa for his own car and I am pretty sure I heard Lyra whisper to him that she wants 17 more dogs.  Here are a few pictures of the kiddos meeting Santa:

And Lucy even got to meet Santa too!  She asked for a big rawhide.  And for the cats to go away.  But you didn't hear that from me  ;)

first date with baby L!

Last weekend Arlo had his first play date with his little friend, baby Lyra.  It was so much fun watching them discover each other, and Arlos first experience really "playing" with another baby.  Lyra's parents sat next to us in our birthing class, so the babies have actually spent a good amount of time close to each other already - in their Mama's bellies!  I wanted to share this adorable video of Arlo and Lyra that I took last weekend.  Lyra is nine days younger than Arlo - is but already crawling as you will see in the video!





Did you notice the Ohio State blanket on which they are playing?  Two OSU fans in the making!  We look forward to many more play dates with sweet baby Lyra!
